The delegation from Malaysia arrived in Mangistau


Mangistau region was visited by investors from Malaysia, headed by the representative of the Ministry of international trade Malaysia Shahrina Mudroom and CEO of Reach-Energy Shahalam Hamid Mohd. The delegation discussed cooperation issues with the head of the region Yeraly Tugzhanov. As previously reported, the Business Forum “Russia-Kazakhstan”, which took place in the framework of “EXPO-2017”, the Malaysian company Reach Energy Berhard has Memorandums of cooperation with akimat of Mangystau region.
As it became known, Malaysian investors bought 60 percent stake in the company Emir oil, which is engaged in the exploration and production of oil and gas. CEO of Reach-Energy Shahul Hamid Mohd said that Malaysian investors are ready to invest up to $ 1 billion in the economy of Mangistau.
Akim of the Mangystau region Yeraly Tugzhanov welcomed the guests, said that the region has a potential in different directions. According to him, the main focus for today is in the sphere of development of tourism in our region has 70 percent of historical and cultural monuments of Kazakhstan.
– Mangystau is one area which has access to the 5 littoral countries. Due to transportation routes Karaganda-Zhezkazgan – Beineu Beineu-Akzhigit – the state border of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the region has strong potential in trade development, has the ability to send cargo to international destinations up to three times faster than before. Of particular interest to foreign investors is causing petrochemical industry, – said the head of the region Yeraly Tugzhanov.
Eraly, Lukpanovich also noted that on 20 July in Mangistau planned transport and logistics forum, which will be attended by the representatives of Singapore, Iran, Malaysia, Georgia, where will be discussed issues of cooperation in the field of transport logistics, the transition to a single tariff.

Based on the Memorandum, we have registered sector, which we will develop, mainly oil and gas industry. Mangystau oil and gas industry has enormous potential, but no processing, on which we focus. In addition, we will help to attract Malaysian investors to the agriculture industry, power industry, water supply and tourism. In 2015 the external trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Malaysia was 39 million dollars, in 2016, the external trade turnover amounted to $ 49 million, which indicates a high rate of development of cooperation between our countries, – said the Representative of the Ministry of international trade Malaysia Shahrin has Madras.
