Mangistau – a major logistics hub of Kazakhstan


In the framework of the program of the President of RK N. Nazarbayev “Nurly Zhol” the development of new Eurasian logistics infrastructure is one of the important priorities of Kazakhstan. Mangistau region in this chain plays an important role. July 20 was held in Aktau international transport and logistics forum. The main purpose of the event is to increase the cargo turnover of sea ports, demonstration of investment appeal of Mangystau region. With the implementation of projects in the field of logistics planned in Mangistau, Kazakhstan power logistics hub in the Caspian sea by the end of 2018 will exceed 25 million tons.

At the event were discussed the issues of development of transport and logistics potential, the common tariff of the Caspian transit corridor and mutually beneficial cooperation. It was attended by the largest countries that are actively developing in the field of Maritime logistics are the largest investors of international Maritime projects: the representatives of the ports of Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, China, Georgia, America, great Britain, Italy, as well as heads of the state bodies, local and major oil companies.

As You know, our region is the only region on the Caspian sea plays a key role in the framework of the revival of the Great silk road. Confirmation of this you saw with your own eyes, visiting the sea gate of Kazakhstan ports of Aktau and Kuryk, – said the head of the region Yeraly Tugzhanov. For the further active cooperation with the Caspian countries in Mangistau all conditions. So, for the development of transit potential of the country this year launched the second phase of construction of Kuryk – road passing. The project will create competition in the development of road transport by alternative routes. Actively forming modern dry cargo and ferry fleet for the development of multimodal logistics chains. By 2020, the fleet will be increased to 20 ships.

The forum was signed a tripartite Memorandum between akimat of the region Mangistauskoj and a+A Group of Companies, EnerMech, bilateral Memorandum between the ports of Aktau and Tbilisi. The memoranda were signed for mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of attracting investment in energy, transport and logistics.
