The amount of energy consumed in the kindergartens of Mangistau fell by 40%

Within the framework of the Energy Efficiency Improvement Project in Kazakhstan, akim of the region Eraly Tugzhanov met with representatives of the World Bank in Kazakhstan and the “Institute for the Development of Electricity and Energy Saving”. In March – May of this year, the first phase of the project was started in kindergarten No. 31 “Erkemai”, No. 54 ” Ainalayin “and in the children’s preschool institution №53. With the launch of this project, the amount of electricity consumed was reduced by 40%. For example, in the kindergarten No. 31 in Erkemai, the amount of energy consumed from 4,500 kW has decreased by 2130 kW, while in kindergarten No. 54, “Ainalaiyn” – from 6620 kW to 5100 kW. In the future it is planned to implement this program in 24 schools and kindergartens of the region.

– As is known in 2010, between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, an agreement was signed on a grant to implement a project to increase energy efficiency in Kazakhstan. The trust fund of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation allocated funds, – said Eraly Tugzhanov.

Then akim of the region and representatives of the Swiss confederation visited kindergarten №53.

– The advantages of the project are that they completely replaced radiators, installed LED energy-saving lamps, and an automated heat point. We monitored, the results were very happy. For example, if last May we paid from 55 to 70 thousand tenge, then in May of this year we paid KZT 35 thousand for electricity, – said Saule Alibekova, director of the sanatorium-tubercle nursery school № 53.

It is worth noting that the energy efficiency project in Kazakhstan is being implemented in Mangistau for the first time, and in the future it will be implemented in other regions of the country.
